ALCOHOL BEVERAGE LICENSING COMMITTEE
In the summer of 2005, the Committee met with the owners of Stone Hearth Pizza to review their application for a Beer and Malt license. After review, the Committee recommended to the Board of Selectmen that a Beer and Malt license be granted to Stone Hearth Pizza. The Board of Selectmen subsequently granted said license.
Over the course of several meetings in the Summer and Fall, the Committee examined the issue of special-use licenses, that is, the ability to grant one-day licenses to civic organizations to offer alcohol at functions under town-defined controls. The Committee submitted a request to the Board of Selectmen to include a Warrant on this issue at a future Town Meeting.
In December, the Committee reviewed the license renewals for the following Wine and Malt licensees: Asai, Brothers Pizza, Ling Garden, Patou, Shangri-La, Stone Hearth Pizza, and Kashish. The Committee recommended license renewal for these licensees to the Board of Selectmen, which was subsequently granted. (The license for Andros Diner was submitted and approved at a later date.)
The All-Alcohol license renewal for the Belmont Country Club was reviewed and recommended for approval. Said approval was subsequently granted.
To date, there are eight (8) Beer and Malt licenses- all are active. There are three All-Alcohol licenses for restaurants that are inactive.
Many thanks go to our committee members for their time and effort.
Respectfully submitted
