WELLINGTON SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE
Committee appointed by the Town Moderator following vote of Town Meeting to undertake Schematic design studies for a new Wellington School. The Committee is made up of the following members:
During May and June the Committee solicited proposals for both Project Management and Architectural services. Following review of numerous proposals and interviews of short-listed firms, two professional service firms were hired.
§ Architect: Jonathan Levi Architects in association with Burt Hill Kosar Rittelmann Associates
§ Project Management: Turner Construction Company
The Committee worked with the School Administration and School Committee members in the development of Educational Specifications and the future size for the new school. The School Committee approved the Educational Specifications and a school size of 680 students (6 full tracks) for pre-school to Grade 4 including two special classrooms for LABBB instruction.
The Schematic design process will be completed in February 2006 and the Committee will report to the Town Meeting in April 2006.
