The Committee met to establish criteria for the anticipation of the Town granting three All- Alcohol licenses.
On April 5, 2004 the residents approved the question: “to authorize the Board of Selectmen to issue up to three licenses for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk with meals in restaurants with a seating capacity between 130 and 250. The licenses will be subject to approval by the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission and will be furthered regulated by the Board of Selectmen.”
New ownership of Rohbaij Enterprises, Inc. formerly Kashish, Leonard Street, Belmont was accepted.
In March of 2004 the requirements for certified server training was set: “all individuals shall be required to complete an approved certified server training every two years.”
In December license renewals were approved: Asai, Andros Diner, Brother Pizza, Ling Garden, Patou, Shangri-La and Kashish. There are eight (8) Beer and Malt licenses- seven (7) are active.
An All- Alcohol license renewal for the Belmont Country Club was approved.
To date the three All-Alcohol licenses for restaurants are inactive.
