Applications for state-aided conventional housing can be obtained between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday at the main office located at 59 Pearson Road, Belmont, Massachusetts or by calling (617) 484-2160.
During the fiscal year ending 2003, the Belmont Housing Authority operating budget allowed an expenditure of $112,200 for extraordinary maintenance for all of the developments including Belmont Village, Sherman Gardens and Waverley Oaks Apartments. We also received state approval to set aside $65,000 in a Special Reserve Account for a proposed parking lot expansion at Waverley Oaks Apartments. In addition to the yearly budget, the Authority continued its efforts to receive state modernization funding through a Housing Bond Bill that would provide safety improvements to the fire alarms at Sherman Gardens Apartments. Contingent upon the availability of additional funding, we will focus our efforts on other capital improvements at each of the developments.
The Authority would like to express special thanks to the other Town Departments, including the Board of Selectmen, Police and Fire Departments, Community Development Office, Health Department, Highway Department, Water Department, Light Department and the Council on Aging.
Respectfully submitted,
James P. Murphy, Chairman
