Minutes
The Board of Selectmen convened at noon in the MacPherson Room of the Belmont Hill School to develop goals for the fiscal year 2003. All members were present.
The Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator and Assistant Town Administrator met in a working session to refine the Board’s mission and to develop long term goals and short term (fiscal year 2004) objectives for the Board of Selectmen and Town Administration.
The following issues were identified as short term objectives for the Board and Town Administration to address in FY 2004:
- Budget and Financial Planning (including the development of departmental goals and objectives)
- Capital Planning
- Defense of Town Against Potential Litigation
- Collective Bargaining
- McLean Agreement
- Analysis of Cost Effectiveness of Legal Services
- Hire Police Chief
- Implementation of Public Works Consolidation
- Support of Town’s Committees and Commissions
- Provision of Constituent Services
Mr. Brownsberger and Mr. Kleckner agreed to work together to formalize these issues into concrete goals for the Board’s further consideration and affirmation.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 6:15 p.m.
