Children's Swimming Lessons
for children ages 5 and over
A Recreation Department membership is required for this program.
Group Swimming Lesson Information
Registration begins September 6, 2012
Fees:
Session 1 (7 classes) $75.
Session 2 (6 classes) $65.
A 2011-12 Membership is required for participation in these lessons
2011-12 Session Dates:
Session One: Sept. 24, Oct. *1, 8, *15, 22, 29, Nov. 5
*Classes on Oct. 1 and 15 will be held in the afternoon due to SATs
Session Two: Feb. 25., Mar. 3, *10, 17, 24, 31,
* Class on March 10 will be held in the afternoon due to SAT's
Dates in red indicate that class will be held in the afternoon due to SAT testing at the Belmont High Shool. Please note: Classes are NOT offered as either/or
Lesson Times
Levels 4-7 9-9:45am OR 3:15-4 pm
Levels 2 & 3 10-10:45 am OR 4:15-5 pm

For Levels 2 and over: Due to the depth of the shallowest end of the pool, children must be at least 48 inches tall and in grades Kindergarten and up. The first session is 7 classes and the 2nd session is 6 classes.
Parents, please remember to respect the rules of the Belmont School Department DO NOT BRING FOOD OR DRINKS INTO THE POOL AREA
Level Description:
Level 2 Very Comfortable in water, will learn floats, rhythmic breathing, start crawl stroke
Level 3 Work on crawl, elementary backstroke, back crawl
Level 4 Introduction to breaststroke, sidestroke development
Level 5 Work on breaststroke, sidestroke
Level 6 Competitive skill development, work on butterfly
Level 7 Competitive stroke refinement/endurance
