Special State Senate Primary December 13, 2011 completed
Special State Election Tuesday, January 10, 2012 polls open: 7 am to 8 pm
Last day to register to vote Wednesday, December 21st 8 pm
For those voters qualifiying for absentee ballots: In- person absentee voting will be available at the Town Clerk's office once the ballots are received from the Commonwealth. Hours Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm - please feel free to call the Town Clerk's office to confirm dates of availability.

Annual Town Election - April 2, 2012

- Last date and time for candidates eligible to be considered candidate for re-election to Town Meeting to return the letter to the Town Clerk indicating he/she is a candidate... by 5 p.m.

- Last date and time for candidates to file completed nomination papers with the Town Clerk (on behalf of the Registrars of Voters) for Town Meeting and Town-wide office... by 5 pm.

- Last date to register to vote to be eligible to vote in the April 2, 2012 election...by 8 p.m.

- ** Notice to those eligible Town Meeting Members whose term expires in 2012 will be sent the week of December 19th. Eligible Town Meeting Members who do NOT receive their emailed/mailed copy by December 27th should call the Town Clerk's office for an additional copy.
Nomination papers for Annual Town Election (Town Meeting and Town-wide offices) will be available December 21st a the Town Clerk's office. 50 certified signatures of registered Belmont voters are required for Town-wide office, 25 signatures of Belmont registered voters dwelling in the appropriate precinct are required for Town Meeting. It is always wise to obtain and provide at least 25% more signatures than the requirement to meet the certification minimums. Please see the Town Clerk's web page on Running for Elected Office.
